5 Things: Ashley Clark of sKout

October 20, 2017

We are excited to share the next inspiring woman in our 5 Things series with you! Ashley Clark is the principal designer and owner of sKout, based in Newport Beach, CA. Her design atheistic is simple and never “over designed”, and her spaces are simply gorgeous!   She is an avid collector of vintage and found items as well as vintage textiles. Her one of a kind pillows and other photos of her work can be found at shop sKout. Ashley was born and raised in Utah, but now resides in Southern California with her husband and 4 children and knowing her personally is a pleasure, she always makes me laugh. Here's a little insight into what gets her going!

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Duh—I wanted to be a Solid Gold Dancer or an Actress :)

Where do you find inspiration?

Social media (Instagram and pinterest) is just a constant source of inspiration—but I also love checking out new stores and boutiques- restaurants and can always find some good inspiration at a flea market.

Do you work from home?  Office?  Studio?

I have a small studio in Newport Beach.   It is super close to home and my kids school so kind of the best of both worlds!

Are you a City girl or a Country girl?

I think I am a little bit of both!  I love the mountains and wide open spaces—but the busy-ness and activity in a city is so much fun!

What are you reading right now?

I have a big ol pile of books on my bedside table—I am partially through these two:  (does anyone else start 2 or 3 books at a time?!)
The Four Agreements: A Practical Guide to Personal Freedom

And

The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery — This one is Fascinating!!!
