Please come in and stay awhile...

So we are in great need of repainting our front doors.  I would love to have a custom set made with glass insets and a wonderful handset.  But alas this is not to be.  So we are taking what we have and making it cooler.  These are my inspiration photos, many I took while in Boston a while back, I love doors!!  Anyway, I am leaning towards a simple handset like the one pictured below with my exterior accent paint color Sherwin Williams Black Fox.  It is not quite black but more of a grey brown- the best color I have found and I love love it!  What do you think?  We have stacked stone on the front with a lot of grey in it and I think it will work well to have something striking and simple there.  I will be adding Wisteria to the front for a little romance (I just thought of this last night).  I would love your opinion!

I love all the ideas for dressing up an entrance with urns and plants. Great pictures.

Wonderful post. Nr.5 is my favorite (as in the perfume, perhaps?)and I also like the first one and a touch of pink from the last one. As the entrance sets the tone to what one expects to see in a home, and that includes the home owners, I wish you an entrance to your heart’s content.

A Perfect Gray

you had me at the third image. I cannot tell you how much I love that black fox. perfect. perhaps that third door would look even better in black fox. the lines in the first hardware set are beautiful and clean. and that small entry console? divine….thanks as always for the beauty…

No 3 is so me! I love how this front looks like an over sized fireplace – mantle and all.. The chopped wood adds to the completion of this vision.

I too love doors and spent so much time photographing old doors (and windows) when I lived in France. Sadly this was a time before digital cameras, but you reminded me of this and I must dig through my old boxes of photos next time I am back in Sweden.

Happy new week to you my dear.

Gorgeous Doors…!
I LOVE doors also…the entrance to a home is so important.
I really like what you picked out…look forward to more photos.
{{ This post speaks to me because for a living, I plant urns and pots for business entrances and personal homes. }}
p.s. just picked up some black paint today to paint my door that goes from our mudroom into the garage….and this was BEFORE I read your post… :)
