Project inspiration: Dana Point vacation rental
Posted October 10, 2014 by Christina
I think one of the best things about my job is searching for inspiration photos that I can share with my client that will help to convey what I want a space to feel like. Just because I can see it in my head does not mean that they can understand what I am trying to accomplish for a space and having a visual reminder for myself as the project progresses is a great resource. We are in the process of starting a project with a client that I have been working with for quite a few years and this one is a little new for us. Our client owns a beach condo that they want to renovate and redecorate to use as a vacation rental property. So the interior needs to appeal to many and needs to be very durable along with being beautiful. I am so excited!
I thought it might be fun to take you with us on this little journey so you can see how the projects progress in real time. Things change as we go and it is always fun to see where we started and where we have ended up. So here we are in the beginning, I visited the site and went over ideas and needs with my client earlier this week and we are in the information gathering stage. I have been emailing back and forth asking questions and pulling idea photos
for the space to help get us all on the same page.
I want to have the space light and airy with some texture and a little bit of a beachy boho feeling.
In the kitchen we want to use subway tiles with a light grey grout and some open shelves as not a typical amount of storage will be needed.
My client wants dark cabinets and light counter tops to keep maintenance in check, I am thinking some fun lighting over the sink area.
I am keeping my fingers crossed we will be able to incorporate a bunk room in the space.
The bathrooms will be simple, clean and functional.
